Preparation:
All equipments must be thoroughly checked before the Bearing Isolator is installed.Disconnect system power and follow all safety procedures. Check the degree of fihisn of surface both the shaft and hole, the shaft shouldn be no less than 64 in (1.63 m).The bore shall be no less than 100 mugs in (2.54 mugs). The shaft and bore should have a suitable chamfer to prevent the o-ring from being scratched. Remove all external defects before installation, such as machining marks, sharp chamfers, scratches, lacunae, and erosion. In many cases, the shaft has a groove because of wear by the old oil seal.Be careful and make sure that the o-ring of the bearing isolator is not seated in the same place. If the surface of the shaft has a keyway or ridge, it must be covered before installation.
The installation:
1. Smear the surface of the O rings of rotor and stator with oil supplied.
2. The bearing isolator and end cover are aligned so that the drain hole is downward after installation.
3. Press the stator ring of the bearing isolator into the end cover with the hand lever press machine and gasket, and check that the bearing isolator is completely pressed in place.
4. Push slightly the end cover/bearing isolator on to the rotating machine along the shaft by hand.
5. Rotate the shaft to check if there is wearing between the stator and rotor.
6. Check whether the drain hole is in at the 6 o 'clock position.
